Some GP services have been charging for consultations for Covid-19 tests despite health service guidelines saying they should be free of charge.
KDoc, the out of hours GP service for Kildare and West Wicklow, reportedly charged a number of people, who were concerned they had symptoms, for phone consultations over the weekend.
Isobel Fletcher, from Newbridge in Kildare, contacted KDoc on Saturday after her son, 11, woke up with a stuffy nose, which can sometimes be a symptom of Covid-19.
Kildare is one of three counties that had been placed on lockdown the previous night because of outbreaks across the midlands and Ms Fletcher said she did not want to wait before contacting a doctor about her son.
