Cervical Cancer is almost 100% caused by HPV, which is Human papillomavirus. HPV is extremely common and is contracted via sexual contact. It is estimated that 1 in 2 women will contract the virus in their lifetime.
HPV is symptomless and requires a test to detect the virus.

How it works in 4 simple steps to complete the test
Step 1
Order your test
When ordering your test please allow one to two working days for delivery, then choose how to return your swab to us. You can either use the prepaid postage which is on the return package, or you can personally drop the sample at our drop-off centre in Central London.

Step 2
Take your test at home
Following the instruction booklet provided within your kit (or you can download a copy here).
You are recommended to take the test in the morning where possible.
If you have any concerns about the steps outlined, please contact us.
Step 3
Return the sample to us
Please return your sample in the pouch provided with your kit on the same day.
Step 4
Wait for your results
Once we have received your sample, we will send you an official diagnostic report via email within 3 - 5 working days.
If there are any markers for concern raised in your diagnostic report, we will share details of specialist medical staff who can provide you with follow-up support.
Do you have any unanswered questions
You should collect your sample between Monday and Thursday, and return the sample in the provided pouch on the same day, either using the pre-applied postage or in-person, direct to our partner laboratory in Central London.
The results will be available within 3 to 5 days of your sample being received by the laboratory.
You'll receive an official diagnostic report by email.
You will receive a sterile collection kit, which will include a vaginal swab. Please follow the step by step instructions provided.
- vaginal bleeding that's unusual for you – including bleeding during or after sex, between your periods or after the menopause, or having heavier periods than usual
- changes to your vaginal discharge
- pain during sex
- pain in your lower back, between your hip bones (pelvis), or in your lower tummy.
If you develop any of these symptoms, you should make an appointment to see your GP.
If you have another condition like fibroids or endometriosis, you may get symptoms like these regularly.
If you're results are abnormal, we will be in touch with you to provide you with recommended next steps, including putting you in touch with a specialist primary care team. You should also provide your results to your GP.
There will be an expiry date on the sterile swab within the collection kit. Please do not use the test beyond this point.
