Seven in 10 people support Boris's return to work drive in poll

Seven in 10 people said they now think it is vital that staff return to their workplace to avert a catastrophic economic crash. The survey conducted for The Sun on Sunday shows people remain wary of being exposed to increased coronavirus risks. Many respondents said they would continue to avoid shopping or eating out in restaurants.

But the poll shows the Prime Minister's message to ease people back into normal life appears to have sunk in.

In a multiple-choice question, 54 percent of people said: "It is probably still risky to return to work but people should, to help the economy." Seventeen percent said: "It is probably safe to return to work and people should do so." Eighteen percent thought the risk remains too high for a mass return to the workplace.
