The serviced offices used by Jomas Associates, an engineering consultancy in Uxbridge, west London, have been gathering dust for more than two months. Some of its 20 staff have been furloughed, but most have continued to work remotely. That does not look like changing anytime soon.
“I almost don’t see us returning to that office space this year,” said Roni Savage, who founded the firm 11 years ago. “Even if you’ve got four in an office of eight, they’re sitting in a room for 7½ hours a day breathing the same air.”
